Since 1978, we’ve been all about crafting vineyard-designated Zinfandels from our historic ZinStar Vineyard at The Lucas Winery. Our winemakers, David Lucas and Heather Pyle-Lucas, are dedicated to creating balanced, food-friendly, and elegant wines that show off the best of California’s Lodi Appellation. Plus, our wines are not just a treat for your taste buds but also for the planet, as our vineyard is CCOF Organic Certified and our winery is powered entirely by solar energy.
We take pride in making our wines through traditional, hand-crafted methods. To honor the rich history of winemaking, we age our wines in select French Oak barrels in our Grand Chai. We’ve picked five different barrel coopers to bring out the unique qualities of each vineyard. Depending on how special the vintage is, the wine will chill here for 12 to 16 months. We even use crushed gravel under the barrels to keep the temperature and humidity just right for aging.
