Starting and ending in downtown Lodi, this 21.6-mile loop offers a flat and easygoing experience perfect for casual riders, nature lovers, and families looking to connect with the landscape.

The route meanders through lush vineyards, serene orchards, and open farmland, showcasing the quiet beauty of San Joaquin County. As you ride, keep an eye out for local birdlife—herons, egrets, and hawks often dot the skies and fields. This is a route that invites you to slow down, take in the view, and breathe in the fresh Delta air.

Whether you’re riding in the golden light of a summer evening or enjoying the crisp clarity of fall, the Bike Lights & Birds Route is the perfect blend of peaceful roads, pastoral scenery, and small-town charm.

When the Sandhill Cranes are migrating (late October–February), it is an extraordinary experience to see and hear these large prehistoric birds flock into the Reserve. The best viewing is at sunrise and sunset.

This route includes optional stops at Lodi Wine & Visitor CenterWoodbridge Ecological Reserve, and Oak Farm Vineyards.
