SALLY SNYDE AND OAK FARM VINEYARDS TO BE AWARDED AT TOURISM LUNCHEON

On Tuesday, May 5 Visit Lodi! Conference & Visitors Bureau will honor World of Wonders Science Museum President Sally Greenley Snyde as Tourism Advocate of the Year and Oak Farm Vineyards as Winery of the Year at the 9th Annual Tourism Luncheon.

Tourism Advocate of the Year Sally Greenley Snyde has volunteered as President of the World of Wonders (WOW) Science Museum since 2005. She has dedicated her time, talents and passion to advancing Lodi tourism while inspiring visitors of all ages to learn about the exciting world of science. WOW, located in Historic Downtown Lodi, attracted over 40,000 visitors in 2014.

“When Sally decided to take on the science museum she went at it 100 percent,” stated Dan Ingrum, owner of Danz Jewelers. “She knew it would bring a lot of people to Lodi and that it would benefit local children and schools. There was no way the museum was going to fail with her at the helm.”

Winery of the Year, Oak Farm Vineyards, is owned and operated by the Panella Family. Their historic property boasts a home and barn over a century old, with a new tasting room and production area that stay true to their historic landscape while offering modern comforts and amenities.

“Oak Farm Vineyards has created a major destination for tourism in Lodi, produced award winning wines and made significant investments that advance the reputation of our region,” stated Wayne Craig, Executive Director of Lodi Memorial Hospital Foundation and Visit Lodi! Board Member. “It is an outstanding example of the legacy created by successful Lodi families.”

In addition to honoring award winners at the Tourism Luncheon, Visit Lodi! will showcase the latest in Lodi tourism and the Visitors Bureau’s support for local business.

“The purpose of the luncheon is to celebrate the efforts we have made in the tourism industry over the past year as well as to honor those individuals in the community that have made a significant difference in bringing in visitors,” stated Visit Lodi! President and CEO Nancy Beckman. “Any business that is impacted by out-of-town sales or has a vested interest in tourism will want to attend.”

The luncheon, sponsored by Wine & Roses Hotel, Restaurant and Spa; Michael David Winery; Lodi Association of Realtors, Inc.; and Baja Media Productions, will take place at the Wine and Roses Garden Ballroom from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $35 per person or $280 for a table of 8. Reservations can be made by calling (209) 365-1195 or by visiting the Downtown Visitor Center at 25 N. School Street.
