Tour of Albariño

The Details
In honor of International Albariño Day, we will celebrate with seven Lodi wineries during the 8th Annual Lodi Tour of Albariño on Saturday, August 5th, and Sunday, August 6th, 2022. Participants will get a chance to try several different Albariños made in various styles, including sparkling wine. This two-day event is open to the public; no tickets or reservations are required. Maps will be available to pick up at each participating winery, the Lodi Wine Visitor’s Center, or download here.
International Albariño Day was inspired by the annual Fiesta del Albariño held in the small coastal town of Cambados, Spain, during the first week of August. Albariño is traditionally grown in Rias Baixas, a wine region in Galicia in northwestern Spain, and is considered one of the country’s finest white wines. It’s lower alcohol and crisp acidity make it an ideal wine for summer evenings!
There are over 100 wine grapes grown in the Lodi appellation, and Albariño has grown in the region since 1999 with proven success. This delicious Spanish and Portuguese white wine continues to gain popularity in Lodi as well as throughout California. During this unique weekend, visitors can go at their own pace, plan their route, and discover the different terroirs and winemaking styles. Many wineries will offer special tastings only available at this event, such as side-by-side tastings, food pairings, and special discounts. Try something new and come to Lodi to discover Albariño!
