Barsetti Vineyards: A Legacy Rooted in the Land
At Barsetti Vineyards, every glass of wine tells a story—a story of family, heritage, and a deep connection to the land. Owners Janis Barsetti Gray and Richard Gray carry forward a tradition that began over a century ago, when Janis’ grandfather, Gottardo Barsetti, journeyed from southern Switzerland to the fertile soils of California. By 1912, he had settled in Galt, and in 1941, Janis’ father and grandparents purchased the land that would eventually become Barsetti Vineyards.
For decades, the property thrived as a dairy and cattle ranch, growing crops that nourished the region. It wasn’t until 1995 that the first vines took root, and in 2001, the Barsetti Vineyards wine label was born. Today, their 120-acre vineyard in the Lodi Wine Region—just east of Galt—produces beautifully crafted Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay.
This family-owned estate blends a pioneering past with a passion for winemaking, creating wines that reflect the character of Lodi’s rich soil and sun-drenched climate. Whether you’re savoring a glass at their tasting room or strolling through the vineyard rows, you’ll feel the legacy of love and labor that defines Barsetti Vineyards.
