
What’s Brewing in Downtown Lodi, California’s Local Craft Beer Scene
For those who seek local, fresh beer crafted in Lodi breweries, Downtown Lodi offers several choices.
Lodi Beer Company, the first local brewery to open its doors in Downtown Lodi, is a brewpub with a lively old-world atmosphere offering lunch and dinner from a menu that includes pub favorites like Fish and Chips; Or just order a cold-pint of one of its many styles of beer.
Dancing Fox Winery and Brewery, is a family run business combining three passions; beer, wine, and bread. Their handcrafted beers are made in small batches in a variety of styles from light pilsners to dark stouts and IPAs. Their restaurant offers lunch and dinner made from scratch using fresh locally sourced ingredients. They also offer one of the best Sunday brunches in town!
Five Window Beer Company and Idol Beer Works, which opened in 2017, both offer a casual indoor-outdoor, “beer garden” open space atmosphere that is both family and dog-friendly. Both taprooms offer beer flights, live entertainment, and rotating food trucks.
Idol (Lodi spelled backward) –crafts many of its beers with a nod to German beer traditions, like one of its most popular beers on tap is a German blond ale called the Smutty Fraulein. Of course, you’ll also find a diverse selection of IPAs, and stouts too, and if you’re lucky, you can snag a glass of their Cherry Nut Brown Ale on tap for the season! The Idol Beer folks are also continuing a tradition of giving during the holidays as they will once again offer a carmel stout called “Relief” with all the proceeds from the beer this year donated to the Camp Fire relief. If you’re hungry and there’s no food truck around, feel free to bring in outside food too.
At Five Window, you’ll find a variety of beers available on tap, in cans, and growlers. With a plethora of IPA options, including one of their most popular, Hazy Trip IPA, and other popular brews like their Cream Ale, there’s a beer at Five Window for everyone! Feel free to catch up with friends, old and new while playing shuffleboard, or corn hole as you enjoy your brew; or maybe order a hot fresh pizza!
Finally, is a 5,000 square foot taproom and beer garden here in Lodi. High Water Brewing Company, is at 927 Industrial Way in Lodi. High Water is known for some of its vibrant and amazing flavors, like their Campfire Stout which takes you back to making smores around the fire, or their crisp and refreshing summer Cucumber Kolsch, plus, some incredibly interesting sours and seasonals throughout the year.
