The Details

Nestled within Micke Grove Regional Park, the San Joaquin County Historical Museum offers a captivating journey through the region’s history. It traces the evolution from the Yokuts and Miwok tribes to Captain Charles Weber, Stockton’s founder and the area’s first farmer, and the rise of modern agriculture. The museum boasts eight exhibition buildings and four historic structures, including the Charles Weber cottage (1847) and Calaveras School (1866). Visitors can explore dioramas featuring the Weber family’s furnishings, a children’s gallery, and extensive displays of hand tools and agricultural equipment. Be sure to stop by the Gift Shop before you leave!

Each December, the museum hosts the annual Festival of Trees Christmas event. For more details, visit the San Joaquin County Historical Society and Museum’s official website for event listings.
