Five Rut-Busting White Wines from Lodi California

Here are five Lodi white wines crafted from lesser known grape varieties to try.

2017 Jeremy Wine Co. Albariño (“alba-reen-yo”) is a high-quality, light bodied wine with roots in Spain and Portugal. But it has found a home in Lodi.  The Jeremy Albariño is light-bodied and dry with layers of fresh citrus, stone fruit and nuanced floral notes.
2017 Oak Farm Vineyards Fiano (“fee-ahn-no”); Fiano is a grape variety native to Southern Italy. The Oak Farms Fiano has a refreshing melon, Asian pear, citrus character.
2016 McCay Cellars Grenache Blanc (“gren-nash blonk)  has a refreshing green apple, citrus, and floral character. If you enjoy Chardonnay, give Grenache Blanc a try.
2017 Acquiesce Roussanne (“rooh-sahn”) is an intriguing, fuller-bodied white wine that is perfect for fall. The Acquiesce Roussanne show very appealing honeysuckle, pineapple and jasmine aromas that are followed by ripe pear, apricot and custard flavors.  Pair with substantial dishes such as lobster, crab, foie gras, or pâté.
2017 Fields Family Wines Vermentino (“vur-men-tino”) has a dry, and very refreshing lemon verbena, apricot, white peach character.  It’s a great wine to pair with seafood or pesto!
