Family Fun and Winter Cheer in Lodi, California

Throughout the year Lodi stays lively, and winter is no exception.

This is a great season to seek out boutiques for unique and special gifts to complete your holiday shopping. A variety of wineries, such as Barsetti Vineyards and Van Ruiten Winery host boutiques throughout November. The Woman’s Club of Lodi also offers an annual Christmas shop, filled with local vendors’ wares. And, don’t forget Small Business Saturday, though celebrated in many cities, downtown Lodi boasts an excellent opportunity to shop locally.

Crafts pair well with pretty much anything, especially wine. For a little holiday DIY action check out LangeTwins Winery and Vineyards this November for their Wreath Workshop. Learn how to assemble your very own, fresh greenery wreath while you sip on their delicious wines. Once you’ve achieved your perfect front door adornment, pop in at Creative Consignment to hone your ornament embellishment skills. Have a great time personalizing ornaments that you can take home and add to your family’s Christmas tree.

Speaking of family, gather your loved ones and take them on a bright and cheerful Christmas adventure at the Festival of Trees. The San Joaquin County Historical Museum at Micke Grove Park goes all out for this mesmerizing annual introduction to the holiday season. Soak up the merriment with sights of over 60 individually designed Christmas trees, play games, make a few crafts, and snapshot this memory with a picture of you and Santa.

Winter usually provokes thoughts of soft snowflakes falling. However, you’ll notice it doesn’t snow in Lodi. Don’t worry though, throughout December Micke Grove Zoo gives visitors the opportunity to satisfy their snow angel aches. Zoo Lights is the place to be for snowman building and a little cold weather play. Kids will love the opportunity to meet Santa, take part in fun activities, and warm up with a cup of hot chocolate.

Lodi’s community spirit truly shines at our annual Parade of Lights. Locals and visitors alike anticipate this spellbinding parade of holiday floats and sheer joy. The Parade of Lights is a 22-year tradition that is not to be missed. Park your chair on School Street, grab a hot drink, and prepare for a beautifully festive visual.

No matter the season, Lodi is the place to be. Crisp weather welcomes holidays spent with family and friends and short breaks from the daily grind. Come visit Lodi and catch some of our holiday cheer.
