Overview

Winemaker Kathy Stonum follows a straightforward philosophy rooted in the traditions of Europe's oldest wineries. Her method involves crafting small-batch wines through labor-intensive processes. Stonum selects only premium grapes from her own vineyard and a few other single vineyards that she personally knows and farms in her unique style. She treats the grapes with care, minimizing intervention to preserve their natural essence. Stonum's goal is to capture intense flavors and complexity while maintaining the fruit's balance and integrity. Her wines consistently reflect the distinct terroir from which they arise.

Stonum Vineyards is committed to sustainable farming practices. According to Lodi Rules, this means "farming in a way that is environmentally and socially responsible while also being economically viable." Any fruit purchased from other Lodi vineyards must be "Certified Sustainable" and farmed to meet our quality standards. Wines from these vineyards are designated as single vineyard, always acknowledging and honoring the grower.

Our grounds offer diverse settings to enrich your tasting experience, including "The Barn," a vineyard patio, a scenic pond, a lush tree-lined lawn, and organic flower and vegetable "garden rooms." We welcome families and pets and maintain a smoke-free environment.
